Alfie’s Antique Market

Alfie’s Antique Market was founded in 1976 when its vicinity was deemed to be a sketchy area with rampant vandalism and boarded up shops. Bennie Gray, the founder who named the market after his father, is hailed as a figure who invigorated the area by bringing the market to life. It features a rooftop cafe and roughly 100 antique dealers with a wide range of antiques, vintage, and retro goods from the turn of the century.

The prices can be steep, so you might just come to browse and visit their Rooftop Kitchen for a lazy brunch or afternoon tea. But who knows, you might just find yourself a hidden gem in one of the shops. Keep your bags small as the stores are filled with merchandise and it can feel very cramped, even with moderate traffic.

Some noteworthy points to visit in the neighbourhood include Regents Canal and Regents Park for some rest and relaxation or head to Marylebone for some high-end shopping.

To get there, travel to Edgware Road Station via the Metropolitan, Bakerloo, Circle or District Lines.
